What will you be doing?

The production of corrugated board and its processing into packaging is a very specific process. The start of this process begins with our corrugated board machine, where corrugated board sheets are made. These sheets are then processed into boxes in the Processing department by cutting, folding, printing, and die-cutting them. And all of this, of course, according to specific designs, qualities, and sizes that are unique for each customer.

The Corrugated Board Machine department operates in a 3-shift system. You and your team are responsible for the qualitative and quantitative production of the corrugated board machine. A Corrugated Board Machine contains various (semi-automated) machines; corrugating and gluing machines (MF1, MF2, and DB) and a stacker. In addition, the CBM consists of a glue kitchen, boiler house, and discharge transport to the intermediate storage (fully automated). The production of corrugated board is divided between two Corrugated Board Machines, which are operated from the control room.

As a Control Room Operator, you can independently operate one of the 4 components of the corrugated board machine in our Control Room. Not only will we teach you the trade, the goal is also to prepare you for the next level, namely Sr. Control Room Operator, within a considerable time. Safety, quantity, and quality are your pillars. You monitor the production process based on variables (temperatures, moisture content, etc.) and ensure that the cardboard meets the correct quality and quantity. You perform checks, identify deviations, and ensure that your colleagues adjust the installations as necessary based on instructions.

Furthermore, in this role, you are responsible for:

Monitoring the production process;
Starting up the corrugated board machine and managing the glue kitchen and boiler house;
Reporting repairs and registering fault information in the system, potentially providing explanations to the Technical Department;
Escalating unsolvable faults and quality deviations to the Team Leader;
Monitoring the functioning of installations;
Ensuring a proper handover during shift changes;
Coaching and providing technical guidance for tasks and providing input to the supervisor regarding training, development, and performance;
Complying with regulations in the areas of safety, occupational health, and the environment, and addressing unsafe behavior by internal and external individuals;
Participating in toolbox meetings.

What are we looking for?

Willingness to undergo internal training;
Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written;
You are motivated and show visible initiative;
You are a fast learner (able to quickly grasp new things) and results-oriented;
You are able to work well in a team;
Experience with machine production is a strict requirement;
Experience with PC operation and programs in a production environment;
Familiarity with corrugated board products is a plus.
