About the job

As Process Development Engineer you will be part of the Cellulosic Derivates Technology team in Deventer, which is responsible for process know-how, technology development, implementation of HSE guidelines (process safety) and process optimizations in our EHEC (Ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose) and CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) plants. As a Process Development Engineer, you drive process improvements in our global Cellulose Ethers plants and manage capacity expansion and cost productivity investments (CAPEX) projects. Furthermore, you will participate in commissioning and start-up of these plants to realize growth projects

In your future role as Process Development Engineer you will

• Act as project leader/manager in initiation and study phase of medium sized multi-disciplinary technology projects and investment projects in an international context (1-5 million Euro).
• Be responsible for the technology expertise within Cellulosic Derivatives and provide high level cost estimates for potential growth projects. Covers the whole range Cellulosic Derivatives technology.
• Take the lead in commissioning and start-up of new or optimized plant (sections) under time pressure in 24/7 complex production environment
• Act as technology licensor and/or lead process engineer in capex projects
• Actively pursue and participate in improving current technologies and identifying new technologies
• Participate as process engineer in Hazard Studies

We believe you bring

• A master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of operational plant experience
• Knowledge on process design and the execution
• Experienced in participation as process engineer in capex projects
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Fluency in English

• A permanent contract with a probationary period of 2 months.
• A gross basic annual salary including holiday allowance based on your knowledge and experience between EUR 65,112 and EUR 98.247

Good to know

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, based in Deventer. You need to be willing to travel for the job when needed, up to 40% of the time, with trips of one or two weeks.
