We are looking for a Project Intern!
Would you like to work in the public sector to help engage the international community, and be part of a unit in the municipality that facilitates internationals in their move to the region?
You can help further develop Work in The Hague and contribute to the reputation of The Hague for international talent.
Wat ga je doen?
As a project support Intern, you will actively contribute to the further development of the Work in The Hague brand and activities around attracting new talent. From supporting organising events for talent and employers to the development of content together with your colleagues and external partners. You will provide project support for the job board with English vacancies – monitoring vacancies and onboarding new companies. You will work together with the account management team in setting up new events for employers.
As project support intern you will also support our team by conducting research on one of the topics below. You will be asked to research and then advise us on improving our services.
1. The Hague International Centre registers over 2.000 new international students each year. Universities also offer information and welcome events for new students. You will advise our team how we could improve the registration process and the information to new students before and upon arrival in The Hague.
2. With Work in The Hague we want to help international students find work after graduation. Many international students leave the Netherlands without having considered staying or leave after difficulties securing a job. You will advise our team how we could help international students and graduates with their future career steps.
Your day-to-day tasks include:
- Monitor the job board Work in The Hague
- Identify new companies for the job board based upon registrations and new startups
- Identifying content for social media and newsletters about working and living in The Hague
- Assisting in updating content about working in The Hague (sectors, immigration, tips for talent)
- Assisting in the preparation of events (online, live, hybrid), and during the event itself;
- Contribute to setting up a career newsletter and to articles for this career newsletter;
- Conducting a research project about international students in The Hague.
Wat vragen wij?
- You are creative and energetic, and you are interested in the field of talent attraction, talent retention, international students, communications and events;
- You have first-hand experience with moving to another country;
- You are eager to learn,open to feedback and always looking for opportunities to improve;
- You are outgoing and comfortable interacting with attendees during our events;
- You are fluent in English (C2 to native level) and Dutch (A2/B1 level). Knowledge of the Dutch culture and habits is highly appreciated.
- You are officially enrolled in University/College.
Wat bieden wij?
Duration: 5-7 months, starting January/February 2025
Remuneration:
HBO-students: €652 (gross) per month (based on 36-hours a week)
WO-students: €652 (gross) per month (based on 36-hours a week)
Wie zijn wij?
The Hague International Centre is the point of contact for all international newcomers in The Hague and region including Delft, Leidschendam-Voorburg, and Rijswijk. We offer information and guidance about living and working in The Hague region and we support international newcomers and employers to make them feel welcome in our region. We also take care of formalities such as municipal registration, citizen service number (BSN), and issuance of residence permits. We do this in close collaboration with our partners ACCESS and the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND).
Our new project Work in the Hague helps employers attract more international talent. Under the brand of Work in The Hague we offer information about open vacancies, economic sectors and steps to grow your career in the region. We aim to attract more tech talent from abroad and retain international students and other talent already in the region.
