About Te Kāhui Kāhu
We are an independent government business unit providing oversight functions on behalf of the Ministry of Social Development, Oranga Tamariki, Department of Corrections, Ministry of Justice, Housing and Urban Development and Ministry of Pacific Peoples.
Our main function is Social Services Accreditation. We provide assurance that social service providers can deliver quality services. We do this by assessing organisations against the Social Services Accreditation Standards (SSAS) and making sure they meet these standards.

Accreditation Assessor, Te Kāhui Kāhu

We are looking for Assessors to complete the accreditation function of social sector service and community providers who are funded by government. Te Kāhui Kāhu provides independent assurance by providing a high-quality flexible service to meet the expectations of the sector.
For these vacancies, we are particularly interested in candidates with a Māori cultural competency background. As a Treaty partner, we have a focus on fostering the employment and inclusion of Māori talent.
Experience in accreditation and/or a background in community service is a must, with a focus on:
  • Social work
  • Health
  • Disability
  • Vulnerable youth
  • Justice sector
  • Culture diversity
You will be part of a dynamic and supportive Te Kāhui Kāhu team, accrediting a wide range of social service providers.
You will be working both independently and collaborating as part of an accreditation team.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the role you will need:
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge or understanding of the accreditation or contract process
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a bigger review team
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of appropriate computer software for word processing, spread sheets, databases and office systems
  • Vision and instinct, decision-making and big picture thinking
  • A good understanding of quality-based assurance processes or the ability to up-skill quickly
  • High level of accuracy with attention to detail
  • Full driver's licence

Salary range: $78,222.00 - $94,689.00
