Mō mātou | About Us
At The Treasury Te Tai Ōhanga we're creating a better future for New Zealand and everyone who calls our amazing country home. We're the Government's economic and financial advisor, working hard to raise the standard of living for everyone in Aotearoa, now and in the future.
Our talented people bring their diverse backgrounds and experiences to tackling New Zealand's biggest and most inter-connected issues. Every day, they are influencing, advising, and supporting Ministers, Crown CEOs and Government decision-makers to shape our country's collective tomorrow.
The Budget team has the primary responsibility for coordinating the Budget process, including working closely with the Minister of Finance and her office. The Budget team supports the Government and the wider public service by leading each phase of the annual Budget process, including Budget strategy, design, ministerial decision-making and production.
The Budget team supports the production of the Economic and Fiscal Updates and other public finance processes. We also act as an advisor to Treasury teams on fiscal implications and applying the fiscal management approach to various proposals.
