Bitumen Sprayer Operator - G3L5

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Join Downer as a Bitumen Sprayer Operator and play a crucial role in shaping Hamilton’s infrastructure. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and skilled operator to handle state-of-the-art equipment and contribute to high-impact road projects.
Your days will be busy operating one of our bitumen spraying machines that helps maintain the high quality roads we have in New Zealand.
Your key duties involve:

Operate Bitumen Sprayers: Efficiently operate bitumen sprayers to apply bitumen accurately and consistently on road surfaces.

Ensure Quality Application: Monitor and adjust machinery settings to achieve optimal application rates and surface coverage.

Conduct Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure peak performance and safety.

Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment and protect team members.

Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and timely project execution.

You’ll have strong work ethic and a positive attitude and bring with you:

Class 2 License : A class 2 full New Zealand drivers licence is required. Class 4, WTR and DG endorsements would be beneficial

Past Experience: Proven experience in surfacing or paving is highly desirable, but not necessary

Technical Aptitude: Basic computer skills necessary

Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure high-quality and accurate bitumen application.

Safety Focused: Commitment to adhering to safety standards and protocols on site.and using personal protective equipment (PPE).

Teamwork & Communication: Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders. Ability to work as part of a team to achieve project goals.
- Time Management: Strong time management skills to work efficiently and meet project deadlines, while maintaining quality and safety standards.
