Buyer Experience Intern

Christchurch

FULL TIME

September 4, 2024

Note: Partly is headquartered in Christchurch. This intern role is based in Christchurch, New Zealand, and candidates must have the right to live and work in New Zealand. We will not be able to consider your application should you not hold the right to live and work in NZ.

Our story
Partly's mission is to connect the world's parts and we're doing that by building the first global platform for replacement parts, starting with auto parts. Our big vision is to accelerate the world towards a sustainable future where waste is eliminated and all replacement parts are universally searchable, accessible and available to all.

Founded by ex-Rocket Lab engineers, we utilise cutting-edge technology to solve challenging but exciting problems that make a huge impact in a $1.9 trillion industry. We've more than tripled our team over the last 12 months and expect to double in size again over the coming 12 months. We're a global team spanning both Europe and Australasia.

We provide a scalable digital infrastructure solution to some of the world's largest businesses and the most exciting startups. Partly's solutions are integrated across hundreds of companies globally, providing the backbone for cataloguing and managing parts online.

Our investors in Blackbird Ventures (Canva, Culture Amp etc.), Square Peg, Octopus Ventures, Hillfarrance, Icehouse, Peter Beck (Rocket Lab), Akshay Kothari (Notion Co-Founder) and Dylan Field (Figma Co-Founder).

We're continuing to build a world-class team and ensuring Partly is a place where people can do the best work of their lives. We're proud of the culture we've built at Partly, and our values are lived throughout every experience.

This role
As the Buyer Experience Team Intern at Partly, you will play a vital role in supporting our platform's launch and ongoing success. Working closely with a cross-functional team, you will contribute to market research, lead generation, customer onboarding, and engagement efforts tailored to the automotive repair industry.

Reporting to the Director of Customer Success, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of automotive parts procurement, gaining hands-on experience that bridges sales, marketing, and project management. Your passion for the automotive industry and keen interest in digital platforms will be critical in driving the adoption of our platform among repairers.

This role offers exceptional learning opportunities and provides practical experience that can be directly applied to your future career in the automotive or tech industries.

What will you do
  • Conduct market research to benchmark existing platforms and offerings comprehensively. Gather and analyse data on repairer preferences and purchasing habits to inform strategy.
  • Support the creation of automated onboarding journeys by assisting in developing and implementing onboarding infrastructure. Work with the team to design automated processes that ensure a seamless experience for customers joining the platform.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of marketing campaigns. Monitor campaign performance metrics and provide insights for optimisation. Help refine campaigns based on competitor benchmarking and customer data analysis.
  • Support the creation of marketing materials such as blog posts, social media content, emails, and presentations. Ensure content aligns with findings from market research and industry analysis.
  • Help with the planning and execution of marketing events, including trade shows, webinars, and product launches. Manage logistics, booth setup, and coordination of materials, ensuring alignment with the broader marketing strategy.
  • Analyse marketing and sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to share findings with the team, highlighting insights from competitor benchmarking.
  • Assist in lead generation activities, such as cold calling, email outreach, or networking events.
  • Provide administrative support to the team, including data entry and CRM management.
  • Interact with Customers through various channels, addressing inquiries and providing information about products or services. Assist in customer relationship management and follow-up activities, ensuring a positive onboarding experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and strategic execution across all initiatives.

Your skills
  • A passion for the automotive sector with demonstrable knowledge of the industry supply chain and its dynamics.
  • Knowledge of replacement car parts, how to purchase and fit one to the car.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including conveying ideas clearly and persuasively to customers and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in analysing data and trends to make informed decisions and optimise strategies.
  • Familiarity with digital sales & marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and analytics.
  • A customer-centric mindset with the ability to understand and address customer needs and preferences.
  • Proven capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to execute marketing campaigns and support sales efforts.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
Please note: if you still need to gain all the skills/experience listed above but believe you could be outstanding in this role, please still consider applying. Many folks, especially those from underrepresented or marginalised groups, often count themselves out. Please allow us to learn more about you and why you're exceptional!

Benefits
  • Competitive base salary. Even though we’re a small startup, we offer competitive salaries and great equity for every full-time employee.
  • Flexible working hours. We have an office-first culture because we believe we can solve problems faster, learn from each other and build better relationships in person, but you can work remotely or from home from time to time when needed. There are no fixed hours, so you can choose to work when you’re most effective.
  • A brand new architecturally designed office in Christchurch CBD. We have free snacks, drinks on tap, two different coffee machines, social areas, and some of the best cafes a stone's throw away.
  • Monthly team lunches to celebrate our wins and enjoy each other's company outside the office.
  • Ergonomic workspace. Sit-stand desks, ergonomic chairs, quiet spaces, and collaboration spaces to suit all kinds of working styles.
