Category Manager - Outdoor Living

We are an award-winning success story, delighting our customers with our home improvement, garden and trade offer. We are looking for a phenomenal person to take one of our growing categories to a new level as our Category Manager – Outdoor Living.
As a Category Manager within our Merchandise team, you will be operating in a highly competitive market and will be responsible for the development and implementation of plans leading to differential and competitive advantage in the market. You will need to be an experienced professional who can demonstrate excellent results in a similar role.
Reporting to the Merchandise Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to;-
- Achieve the companies and categories financial budgets.
- Development and maintenance of the Mitre 10 merchandise offer.
- Planning and implementation of the category’s strategy and promotional program.
- Implement best practice and to optimise supplier relationships.
- Implement effective communication of merchandise initiatives to stores, support centre, suppliers, and other stakeholders in line with merchandise protocols.
- Coaching and mentoring a high performing team.
The ideal candidate will have had at least 5 years of category management experience and 5 – 10 years’ experience within the retail or consumer goods industry with experience leading a high performing team. Previous experience buying within Outdoor Furniture, BBQ, and Camping categories would be advantageous.
