Full time 32 hours per week

We are looking for reliable and experienced Chefs or Cooks for our aged care kitchen located on the beautiful Kapiti Coast. Here you will create high quality meals that are produced fresh every day including morning and afternoon teas, and lunch for 75 residents and dinner for around 40.

To be successful in this role you need to be able to multitask, have a friendly disposition and show good communication skills in order to interact with rest home staff and residents. These positions are a pivotal part of our team and require a cook/chef with relevant experience.

Shifts are:
Thursday and Friday 7am to 3.30pm
Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 5.30pm.

The ideal candidate will have:

• a passion for food
• experience preparing, cooking and serving wholesome food in an aged-care setting
• an interest in baking
• Will be available for function service
• an understanding of dietary requirements and food control regulations
• experience managing product quality standards and service delivery
• excellent communication skills and a flexible/can-do, committed attitude
• ability to work unsupervised, as well as supervise kitchen staff
