Corporate Services Officer

The New Zealand Customs Service is seeking a Corporate Services Officer to support the Corporate Services team in Auckland.
This role is a permanent full-time position, working with a small friendly team of other CSO's, reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, Northern. Hours of work are between 08.00am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (inclusive).
The Corporate Services team is part of the wider Enterprise Services Group and is responsible for providing sustainable, efficient and effective corporate services and infrastructure support, within Customs.
As a Corporate Services Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and administrative functions as required by Customs. You will have a client centric focus, with a professional attitude, high integrity, calm manner and sound judgement, ensure quality standards are maintained. You will be based at one of our two corporate occupancies; you will be required to work at the other locations, on occasion.
This role is dynamic and busy. It offers variety and requires a component of activity that would suit someone not wanting to be fully desk-based and is able to manage light lifting and standing. This role will allow opportunity to build strong work relationships across Customs business units, nationally.
Key responsibilities to this role will be:
To join Customs in any role you must be a New Zealand Citizen or NZ Permanent Resident*.
(*) A New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in New Zealand for the last 5 years and resides in NZ at time of application;
OR a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided in New Zealand for the last 5 years and resides in NZ at time of application, but may have been absent from New Zealand for periods of six or more months within the past five years, preferably in one or more of the following countries: either Australia, Canada, UK or the USA. You will be required to provide overseas police certificates for these periods spent outside of New Zealand.
Applicants must have New Zealand Citizenship or have NZ Permanent Residency and be able to obtain and maintain an organisational security clearance. - Purchasing goods and services, including obtaining quotes, purchase order preparation and goods receipting.
- Uniform ordering, issue and recording duties.
- Mail and courier distributions.
- Arranging building services repairs and maintenance.
- Security system maintenance and programming.
- Staff and visitor passes and security access cards issue.
- General motor vehicle fleet management
- Assisting with Corporate tasks at other Custom locations
- Undertaking general administrative tasks.
