About the Role: As a Livestock Assistant - Kaiāwhina Kararehe, you will play a vital role in supporting the Dairy Support Farm Manager in the daily operations of our farm. This role requires a strong commitment to animal welfare, health and safety, along with a proactive approach to assisting with various farm activities. Therefore, there are physical requirements of the role which include; an ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions and the capability to handle manual labour tasks effectively and safely.
What We're Looking For:
- At least (1) year of farm experience, preferably with young stock.
- Basic experience with farm machinery/equipment.
- Current New Zealand Driver's Licence and eligibility to work in New Zealand.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and engage with Ngāi Tahu values and tikanga.
- Technical skills to support the team with the monitoring and recording of on farm data for both livestock performance and pasture management.
- Work within an experienced team and have a great variety of tasks.
- Farm systems that utilise best practice technologies and target top 10% performance.
