Domain Principal – CCS Planning, Design and Delivery – Release Delivery

We are seeking a Domain Principal in Customer and Compliance Services (CCS) Planning Design and Delivery (PD&D) to support Release Delivery across our major releases. In this role you will support Release Leads, across the various releases, to ensure they are coordinated and aligned to agreed delivery approaches. You will also provide thought leadership on improvements that could be made to our approaches to ensure they are repeatable and scalable. You will work alongside a wide range of stakeholders and be a part of the Design Delivery domain leadership team.

In Design Delivery, we plan and deliver successful change in a coordinated way for CCS. We provide the quality assurance and delivery disciplines to ensure changes and outcomes are landed well. Alongside Release Delivery, this domain also includes Release Planning, Delivery Support and Change Management functions.


Ara Whiwhi Mahi | The Opportunity
CCS Planning, Design and Delivery is responsible for delivering multiple legislative tax and social policy changes. Various scope across initiatives are packaged and delivered as releases across a year alongside technology upgrades to our core platform. The ideal candidate will have proven experience delivering complex change in a large customer-facing organisation, spanning multiple customer products. You will also be required to engage with senior stakeholders including executive governance teams.
In this varied role you will be responsible for:
  • Matrixed leadership of multiple Release Leads ensuring they are supported and coordinated day to day.
  • Providing technical expertise and insight about future delivery needs.
  • Actively engage and manage relationships across CCS PD&D and wider IR stakeholders, including executive governance.
  • Working with Service Owners for Delivery Support Office and Change Management to identify emerging trends and provide thought leadership to support the development of repeatable and scalable release approaches.
  • Providing support to lift capability across the Design Delivery domain.
  • Working closely with the Domain Principal – Release Planning to ensure releases are planned out to the future and the transition to delivery is managed appropriately.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
  • Proven experience in leading/delivering complex customer facing releases/initiatives/projects including delivery experience across multiple delivery methods.
  • Proven experience in delivering change successfully through networked teams.
  • Strong experience in leading stakeholder management and the ability to communicate complex issues in simple terms to executives and governance.
  • Proven experience is designing and enhancing delivery approaches for releases/initiatives/projects.
  • Experienced in designing and facilitating workshops to identify and achieve outcomes with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, highly focused and know how to empower and mentor others effectively. You use your expertise to coach and mentor other team members, growing their capability to achieve better outcomes.
