He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Embark on a journey with Hui Te Ananui A Tangaroa New Zealand Maritime Museum.

Celebrating the connection between people and the sea, the team of passionate staff and volunteers share New Zealand’s history and inspirational stories through extensive galleries, exhibitions, programmes and on-water experiences.

We are looking for an experienced customer-focused Front of House Manager (FOHM) to lead and inspire our front-of-house team, enhancing our visitor experience with outstanding service and Manaakitanga (hospitality). You’ll manage day-to-day operations, oversee a team of Museum Assistants, and ensure that every visitor enjoys a memorable museum experience.

This is a permanent, part time position of 24 hours / 3 days per week. Days and roster to be discussed – likely to be either Sun- Tues or Wed - Frid. This forms part of a job-share with another FOHM to cover the 7-day week.

The role will also require occasional evening shifts and public holidays.
