We are seeking Harvesters for permanent work at our busy indoor shelf farm based in Hornby. Meadow Mushrooms are the leading producer of mushrooms in NZ and are a thriving business with strong family values. We have a team of close to 500 people from within the Canterbury region. Our Harvesters are responsible for hand picking and sorting mushrooms into appropriate grades.


The Opportunity:

• Full training provided
• Permanent Harvester position
• 7am start time
• 5 days per week which must include both Saturday and Sunday shifts
• Finish times vary as per daily production requirements - work is until daily duties are completed
• Base hourly rate + bonus - influence your take home pay!
• Hourly bonus payments for kg picked above set targets

The Role:

• Picking and sorting mushrooms into appropriate grades
  
• Fast and efficient hand work, with an eye for detail
• Working on your feet all day
• Complying with food safety requirements
• Working in a production environment
• Working at heights and operating a lorry/lift

You Will Have:

• A positive attitude to Health and Safety / Food Safety
• Ability to lift 15kgs
• Physically fit
• Ability work as part of a team
• Good communication skills. A reasonable level of English is required
• High motivation to meet individual, team and company targets around quality and pick rate
• The ability to be engaged in long term employment

Applicants for this role should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa, and currently be residing in New Zealand. This role would not suit someone looking for short term employment (due to the training involved).
