We are seeking a Production Operator/ Labourer for permanent work at our busy composting facility in Dunsandel. Meadow Mushrooms are the leading producer of mushrooms in NZ and are a thriving business with strong family values. We have a team of close to 500 people from within the Canterbury region. We are a diverse workforce with people from many different cultures.

The Role:

To effectively operate loaders and technical equipment to support the making and mixing of compost in preparation for growing mushrooms.
Duties will include:

• Operating a loader and forklifts (after training)
• Ensuring the machinery and equipment you are operating is performing efficiently and highlighting any issues as they arise
• Keeping area and equipment clean
• General labouring work as required
• Being pro-active with hazard management
• Operate other machinery and processing equipment

What you will bring to the role:

• Positive attitude and good communication skills
• Must be physically fit, motivated and practically minded
• A passion for working in a rural/agricultural sector
• Be able to work as part of a small team or unsupervised
• Loader driving experience and a Forklift certificate from an OSH registered trainer would be a definite advantage but training for the right person will be provided

Key considerations:

• This role is Monday-Friday/ Saturday with a 3 week rotating roster.
• This position is also required to work public holidays.
• Candidates must have their own reliable transport as there is no public transport to our rural farm location.
