Interim Director of Planning and Budgeting

This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the entire planning and budgeting process within the financial planning and analysis function. This role involves strategic planning, coordination, and execution of short and long-term financial plans and budgets.
The Interim Manager of Planning and Budgeting reviews these plans and confirms that they are credible, actionable, and supported by a comprehensive understanding of financial and non-financial performance drivers, this involves undertaking extensive scenario planning. This individual plays a pivotal role in leading the annual budget processes, including developing budget communications, and providing key financial inputs to inform strategic planning and budgeting decisions.
The Interim Manager of Planning and Budgeting contributes to the financial aspects of HNZ plans, including the New Zealand Health Plan and Statement of Performance Expectations, and supports function-specific planning activities.
Effective leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
About you
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
