Intermediate/Senior Test Analyst

Te Tūranga - The Role
As Tait Communications continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Test Analyst to join our team. This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in all aspects of the product lifecycle within the Verification & Validation (V&V) discipline, particularly for complex systems. You will be responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on test plans, test designs, and other key documents (e.g., PRS, project plans), while also mentoring others in V&V methodologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Test planning, coordination, design, and execution
- V&V methodologies and technology expertise
- Ongoing maintenance and improvement of Python based automated tests
- Application of robust testing and coding practices
- Requirements capture, analysis and modelling.
- Test planning (test strategy, sizing and costing of phases, actions and tasks)
- Test co-ordination (potentially as lead tester of larger projects)
- Test design specification, implementation and execution (both manual and scripted testing).
- Identify and track defects using tools like JIRA, collaborating with development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Learning from others to become an expert in Tait products, and mentoring others in the same.
To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary Qualification in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent).
As well as:
- At least 4 years as a Technical Tester (preferably at the confluence of Embedded Software Products or Communication Technology)
- Proven track record in design & implementation of Automated Test Framework to make sapient testing effective.
- Proven expertise in Python coding.
- Experience and/or drive to mentor others and share knowledge across the Testing function.
- Proven experience in owning and driving improvement in Test processes.
- Experience or an interest in one or more of the following would be advantageous;
- TCP/IP Communication protocols, UARTs/Microcontrollers, Radio frequencies, Audio processing, Linux, Jenkins, Gitlab, Mercurial, Elasticsearch, Encryption, Cucumber/BDD test frameworks.
