Te Tūranga - The Role
We're offering an exciting opportunity to join our Operations team. This role is primarily focussed on developing software and processes that integrate with our ERP system (SAP), webapps, databases and applications. The purpose of the role is to enable the business to develop and continuously improve the "lean" processes used at Tait which keep our business to operate smoothly and efficiently. This role sits within operations with a complementary relationship with our ICT and sales teams, this is a vital relationship to develop business process and enable the manufacture of high-tech products we produce in a very complex and competitive industry.
The duties of the role will include:
- Development of applications that automate and support business process
- The ability to develop, maintain and improve applications within both .NET, VB framework and Asp.net
- Experience in working with SQL and relational databases
- Have a Software Engineering background
- Experience with web development technologies, Microsoft Excel/VBA and other development tools is preferred.
- Be familiar with Git Lab and Rest APIs
- Cover the full life cycle of products from requirements gathering to analysis, design, development, and deployment of software to improve our assembly processes and automated control systems.
- Troubleshoot issues and help keep our factory running.
- Provide tools and information to assure the quality of our processes.
- Engage in problem solving, process enhancement and supporting a lean culture dedicated to continuous improvement.
This role could be suited to an enthusiastic graduate, or an experienced engineer with the corresponding levels of experience in the entire software life cycle and be able to translate user needs into effective applications using analysis, problem solving and effective communication. You will be able to apply 'big picture' thinking to complex systems, finding long term solutions to solve problems and bridge the gap between systems, tools and approaches.
