Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Investment Operations team within the Science System Investment and Performance branch. We work in partnership with other funding teams to achieve successful science outcomes for New Zealand.

For this opportunity, we are looking for someone with great attention to detail and some experience in using business applications to assist with data verification. What we can offer you is the opportunity to learn about science funding contracts.

We are keen to hear from you if you have:
  • Great attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. * Demonstrated experience in relationship management and collaboration skills. * A pro-active, solutions-focused work style with a strong customer service focus and delivery. * Ability to communicate effectively. * Experience in a role requiring strong organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines without compromising quality. * A proven track record of experience in business processing support and/or government processes. * Experience in funding and contracting. * Willingness to learn and develop an understanding of Te Ao Māori and Tikanga. * Must have legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
About the Science System Investment and Performance branch
We make, manage, assess and advise on scientific investments to meet New Zealand's economic, social and environmental goals. We do this:
  • Through a portfolio approach, based on broad scientific knowledge within the branch, and the contribution of specialised expertise from the sector (e.g. through Panels and assessors). * Through sector stewardship, working as a credible partner and neutral broker within the sector and across government to facilitate discussions and identify opportunities. * As a smart operator, with both scientific and government sector credibility, and the ability to marry these to find practical solutions. * By being the expert on best practice and running efficient, clear processes.
