Are you an experienced Launch Master seeking a change of scenery and a dynamic new challenge? Real NZ invites you to become a part of our team as a Launch Master for our Manapouri/Te Anau operation.
As our Launch Master - Lake Manapouri/Te Anau, you will play a pivotal role in providing cover across various locations, ensuring the delivery of remarkable daily cruises, whether you are rostered on Lake Te Anau or Manapouri. Life in this position is busy and dynamic, requiring strong leadership, exceptional interpersonal communication, and outstanding ship-handling abilities, as Fiordland's weather can be challenging.
As Launch Master, you will assume complete responsibility for the vessel, crew, and passengers, ensuring that the vessel operates in compliance with legislative requirements and Real NZ guidelines at all times.
Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of all staff, customers, contractors, and the general public.
• Manage emergency situations on the vessel under your command.
• Implement the Real NZ safety management system in your role as Master.
• Maintain the highest standards of customer service at all times.

This is a full-time, fixed term role that may require occasional travel to other areas of our operation.
Qualifications and Requirements:

• SRL 24m with Passenger endorsement
• Must hold current MNZ Medical
• Current First Aid certificate
• Preferred experience in commercial vessel operations in Fiordland.
• Strong people and communication skills.
• High-speed Endorsement preferred.
• Full NZ Driver's License.
• Experience in leading and mentoring a team of vessel crew.
• Experience providing high-quality interpretation and commentary is preferred, but full training will be provided.
