The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Leading Freight Operator to join our operations team in New Plymouth, you will be an important part of our team ensuring the timely, efficient and safe handling of freight in order for the company to achieve their target delivery goals, on time and damage free. The right candidate will be a friendly, energetic, and positive team player with a customer focused attitude and a reliable work ethic.

What you'll do

• Load and unload all freight safely and securely, for both road and rail units.
• Achieve branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner.
• Maintain good working relationships.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment.

What you'll need

• A strong health and safety focus
• OSH approved forklift certificate (preferred but not essential)
• Prior long fork experience (preferred but not essential)
• An understanding of dangerous goods laws (preferred but not essential)
• Prior work experience in the freight industry (preferred but not essential)
