Learning Designer – fixed term role, based in Wellington

We are seeking an experienced, innovative and motivated learning designer to join our team on a fixed-term basis until 31August2025 to cover an employee who is on an external secondment.
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for designing impactful learning experiences to make a real difference. You will work closely with the rest of our design team to complete quality learning solutions so people can thrive.
As part of the wider OSD Learning and Development team, you will work collaboratively with other learning designers, trainers, and technical coaches to ensure we enable OSD to achieve its strategic goals by building our peoples capability and confidence to perform in their role.

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
We're looking for talented individuals with learning design and development skills and a curious nature that comes up with innovative solutions to problems. You will need to be a self-starter who can manage your own workload, easily switch from one priority to the next, and learn from reflective practice.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or a related field.
• Proven experience with e Learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
• Experience with multimedia design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple learning design projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A working knowledge of the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi and the implications of these for the work of Te Tāhū o Ture – Ministry of Justice.

This role is based in our National Office in Wellington.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $83,562 and $107,862 based on skills and experience.
