This is a part-time role based in New Zealand.
NZQA is inviting applications from individuals for NCEA and NZ Scholarship Materials Developers for the 2025 assessments.
Materials Developers will work in their own time with the examiner to produce assessment materials for the externally assessed NCEA standards at levels one, two, three, and NZ Scholarship.
Assessment Materials Developers are required for the following subjects

• NCEA - Level 1 Science

Working relationships

Materials Developers are required to:

• liaise with the allocated National Assessment Facilitator
• work with the direction of the examiner to produce assessment materials for externally assessed achievement
• standards within the required timeframes
• attend a planning and development meeting between July – November to draft assessment materials
• attend a meeting early in in the year of the assessment to review the previous years' external assessments to inform assessment development.

Materials Developers will maintain the highest levels of security and confidentiality when:

• liaising with allocated External Assessment Team members and other assessment contractorsworking with all assessment materials.

Professional and personal qualities

Materials Developers will demonstrate:

• extensive subject knowledge and familiarity with the New Zealand Curriculum
• an understanding of the principles of standards based assessment
• experience in developing high quality assessment material for a standards based environment
• professional expertise in standards based assessment
• knowledge of the rights and responsibilities of the partners of the Treaty of Waitangi in an educational assessment setting
• the ability to establish constructive working relationships with other professionals
• clear and effective communication
• the ability to work to stringent deadlines
• the ability to implement and maintain appropriate administrative and communication systems.
