NZQA is looking for Contract for Service (CFS) Moderators to carry out external moderation of internally assessed standards for Digital Technologies
This is an exciting and career enhancing opportunity for teachers to further develop their professional understanding of moderation. You will gain valuable professional knowledge of assessment and moderation to enhance teaching, learning and assessment for your students. The contract role is part-time, and manageable alongside a full-time job.
As a moderator you will have the chance to work with other subject experts to ensure fair, valid, and consistent assessment against the standards. You must understand the principles of standards-based assessment and have knowledge of the New Zealand Qualifications Framework and the National Certificate in Educational Achievement (NCEA).
You must have current or very recent recognised teaching and assessment expertise in NCEA Levels 1-3 in Digital Technologies. Preference will be given to applicants with proven regional or national involvement. Experience in facilitating workshops is desirable.
Applicants must be a resident in New Zealand.

Contract and training
Suitable applicants will be trained prior to confirmation of appointment. The training is online and will take approximately 8-10 hours. You will be paid for this time.
Participants will be required to successfully complete the training before a contract for services will be offered. The contracts for service may be between individuals and NZQA, or between individual employers and NZQA.

NZQA has a formal appointment process to ensure that all applicants are fairly treated, and the best applicant is selected for the contract. Selection is based on assessing each applicant's skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience against the role definition for the contract.
