National Clinical Governance Manager - Clinical Leadership

We have a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced senior manager to step into the role as National Clinical Governance Manager. Bringing solid and comprehensive general knowledge of the healthcare environment, its strategic priorities, strengths and weaknesses. The National Clinical Governance Manager will be reporting to and working with the National Chief, Quality and Patient Safety and will be responsible for supporting the clinical governance structure within Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora. Leading development of National Clinical Governance framework, reports and policies. They will also support development and implementation of a national clinical controlled documents system and ensure all aspects of governance are monitored, evaluated, analysed and reported on. You will be working in partnership with Hauora Māori Services, Te Tāhū Hauora Health Quality and Safety Commission and Manatū Hauora Ministry of Health.

We are looking for a seasoned manager who has comprehensive experience in dealing with complexities of a large diverse organisation. Understanding the NZ healthcare sector and working with executive leadership is essential. You will possess a high level of expertise in using data to inform decision-making. You build and maintain relationships with ease and strive to work collegially, positively and constructively with managers and clinicians and staff at all levels
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Comprehensive general knowledge of the Health Care environment, its strategic priorities, strengths and weaknesses
- Experience dealing with the complexities of a large diverse organisation
- Experience working with executive leadership and preparing Board-level papers
- Experience in improving and streamlining systems and processes
- Experience and knowledge in all aspects of governance, particularly at a national level
- Strong interpersonal skills, displaying honesty, integrity and a demonstrated sense of ethics in all decisions and actions
- Considerable experience in building, influencing, and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
