Regional Clinical Lead Cancer Service Delivery

Contribute to transforming the future of health and cancer service delivery across the region by providing leadership of the Regional Cancer Service Delivery Network. The Regional Clinical Lead Cancer Service Delivery will provide leadership to deliver on strategic, nationwide, approaches at the regional level reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive. The role will drive integrated service delivery to ensure provision of care, which is equitable throughout the region, high quality, sustainable, and whānau-centered.

The Opportunity
As the Regional Clinical Lead for Cancer Service Delivery you will be required to support the strategic vision that will ensure equitable outcomes and reduce variation in service delivery of cancer services for all patients across New Zealand.
The Regional Cancer Clinical Service Delivery Network Lead will lead and transform cancer care across their Region on national and regional priority areas including:
  • Development and implementation of updated service delivery models to ensure increased capacity and distribution of medical oncology care, associated with the Government's increasing access to medicines initiative
  • The trajectory of improvement to deliver the Faster Cancer Treatment Health Target by 2030
  • Networked ways of working moving from local to regional, for example leading a shift to managing LINACs throughout the region as a single fleet with regional level waitlist management
  • Working with District Directors, Clinical Leads and Managers to organise and manage regional operational processes to maximise service delivery capacity and ensure equitable, timely access to care
  • Implementation of nationwide service delivery models to meet regional needs
  • Leading unification of the provision of care throughout the region, ensuring consistent service delivery
  • Reducing variation in clinical practice and access to services across the region
This role will contribute to setting national direction through membership of the National Cancer Services Delivery Forum and will communicate and lead implementation of Health NZ strategic direction and standards of care as outlined by the National Cancer Clinical Network and National Cancer Services Delivery Forum.
You will develop excellent working relationships with the National Cancer Clinical Network and Planning, Funding and Outcomes to identify how national service delivery models of care and standards can be implemented regionally to meet population need. You will ensure national coherency, reducing any nationwide unwarranted variation and the delivery
Skills and experience
  • A track record of leadership and successful delivery as a clinician in a senior clinical role
  • A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action or improving indigenous health
