Nurse Educator NETP, Fixed term

As a Nurse Educator for our New Graduate Programme, you will be playing a pivotal role in supporting and guiding Graduate Nurses at Waitemata District. This is an exciting opportunity to mentor and develop new nurses as they begin their professional journey, ensuring they are confident, competent, and prepared for a successful nursing career.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentorship & Guidance: Provide expert clinical guidance and support to Graduate Nurses and their Preceptors, fostering professional growth and confidence in practice.
  • Leadership & Teaching: Demonstrate clinical leadership while delivering dynamic and creative teaching that enhances the learning experience for new nurses.
  • Collaboration & Autonomy: Work both independently and collaboratively within the NETP team to maintain high standards of patient care and service delivery.
  • Professional Development: Guide Graduate Nurses through their first clinical experiences, ensuring they develop the skills necessary to thrive in a complex healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Postgraduate Qualification: A Postgraduate Diploma in Specialty Practice (or working towards/achieved a Master's qualification).
  • Clinical Teaching Expertise: Certification in Train the Trainer or Clinical Teaching.
  • Clinical Experience: At least 5 years' experience in general nursing with a strong reputation for clinical expertise.
  • Leadership in Education: Proven experience in clinical leadership and team teaching roles.
  • Experience in Mentorship: Previous experience in a similar clinical coaching or educator role, ideally within a large or complex healthcare organization.
