Occupational Therapist

Whangarei Hospital
Working 40 hours per week – includes participation on the shared on-call weekend and public holidays roster (working one day every 6-8 weeks approx.)

About the Role
We have an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team at Whangarei Hospital. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across all services, utilise your professional knowledge and skills to provide a quality service to the designated inpatients and outpatients attending Whangarei Hospital.
Opportunities are available to rotate throughout the hospital every 6-12 months, including Medical and Surgical based departments, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Stroke and Rehabilitation Services.

About you
Essential Skills and Experience

New Zealand registration as an Occupational Therapist and a holder of a current practicing certificate
Current Drivers Licence
Ability to work autonomously and as part of multidisciplinary team
Aware of Occupational Therapy theory and principles of practice
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships between staff and clients

Experience is preferred for this position; however, we encourage all to apply.

Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
