Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We have an exciting permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) leadership opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Practice Supervisor to provide clinical leadership to our team of enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapists covering Taiao ora Ward 51 Acute Stroke, Neurology & Rehabilitation. This permanent, full-time position based at Auckland City Hospital combines professional and people leadership, service development and quality improvements, with clinical practice.
  • Provide operational and clinical leadership to the Occupational Therapy team
  • Implement evidence-based practice and service development
  • Demonstrate effective clinical reasoning and model senior level evidence-informed practice
  • Provide adult teaching and apply knowledge of appropriate educating skills
  • Undertake a clinical caseload providing comprehensive and evidence-based care
  • Report directly to the Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead and is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist wanting to develop their leadership and management capabilities

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
  • New Zealand registration as an Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • At least 6 years of clinical experience
  • Experience mentoring, coaching and leading a team
  • A passion for working in acute care and rehabilitation
  • Clean, full New Zealand drivers’ licence
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary bicultural environment
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • A flexible, pro-active approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The remuneration for this position is covered by a collective agreement (PSA Allied, Public Health Scientific Technical MECA)
Salary Range: Designated B Step 1 - $117,420 to Step 3 - $122,570 (Depending on experience)
