Our amazing Napier pastry team has a vacancy for a Pâtisserie Chef / Assistant to become a part of our small team! This job will require you to be constantly on your feet, while applicants should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
This position vacancy is for PERMANENT PART-TIME HOURS (between 15 - 25 hours), however exact hours will be discussed on the day if you are successful for an interview. Expected days of work will be Thursday - Saturday, however days can be flexible for the right person.
For those interested, some experience in a kitchen (especially in a Pâtisserie kitchen) is necessary. However, if you are interested and have a keenness to work towards being a Pâtisserie Chef / Assistant as a future career - feel free to apply to this listing.
What this job requires of you as an applicant are:

• A great attitude is key and experience comes secondary
• Working one on one with our Head Pastry Chef, you will be given daily tasks to meet the needs of the business to ensure smooth operations day-to-day
• Have an understanding and passion of the pastry world with a drive to learn and grow
• Assisting day-to-day operations of our pastry section of the kitchen
• Maintaining quality control and creating ideas and desserts alongside with our Head Pastry Chef
• Assist with decorating and creating pastries, ensuring consistent presentation and taste
• Adhering to general hygiene procedures, which includes maintaining an orderly station, general kitchen cleaning duties and being compliant with health and safety standards
• Must be reliable and available for weekend work, all day shifts (6am starts) no nights
• A right to work in New Zealand (VISA or equivalent), we cannot sponsor any applicants at this stage
