- Number of positions for this job: 1
- Employment type: Permanent
- Days required: 5 days between 3.30pm – 9.30pm (Monday to Friday), 9.00am – 7.00pm (Saturday and Sunday)
- Hours per week: minimum of 30 hours a week is guaranteed, maximum of 40 hours per week
- Hourly rate: $29.66-$31.61
- Understanding New Zealand curriculum requirements, and creating lesson plans, and educational content that satisfy these requirements.
- Analyzing the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of students and structuring lessons and assessments around them.
- Adjusting teaching methods to suit different groups of learners.
- Creating engaging, stimulating lesson plans and asking frequent questions to make sure students are on track.
- Providing extra support to students that require it, and more challenging tasks to those who are ahead of the class.
- Keeping abreast of developments and research in the field, and using this to ensure lessons are relevant.
- Reporting any progress issues to the head of the department, as well as the parents.
- Keeping the line of communication open between students, staff, and parents.
- Be qualified for the job with Bachelor of Science in Physics or a related discipline, or relevant 5 years work experience in the teaching field in Physics
- New Zealand citizen or resident visa holder is preferred
- Live close to Auckland city centre or able to travel to the job
- Available for work after hour and weekend if required by the employer
- Patience, innovation, and knowledge of classroom management and student discipline.
