Taking a holistic view of service delivery in assisting them to live independently - To provide a client/family/whanau centred, safe, effective outcome focused support/service where the majority of time is client related
- To work with the client / their support network to identify needs and provide fundamental service and support to achieve best outcome towards a life without limits
- Empower the client and assist in the development of a plan around individual identified needs and priorities and ensure the effective delivery of appropriate services in line with the client plan
This is a permanent part time role, 30hrs per week. You will report to the Service Team Manager and work in collaboration with a team of highly experienced and expert practitioners. Based out of our Nelson office, this role will also include travel to visit clients across Nelson/Tasman as it incorporates West Coast Tasman and Marlborough regions. Fleet vehicles are provided.

Proven experience in service delivery within the disability field, general health or rehabilitation, or a relevant tertiary education - Develop relevant fundamental level transdisciplinary skills – Adaptive Communications and Technology, Orientation and Mobility, Adaptive Living, assessing client needs, and interpretation of ophthalmic reports. Previous experience within a customer focused role, ideally within the disability sector
- Experience working with blind or vision impaired clients is highly advantageous
- Well-developed communication skills and the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
