As a Principal Advisor Portfolio Definition in our Te Toki | Transport Services Portfolio and Programme office your role will be to translate strategic direction and long-term plans into a tangible pipeline of investments in the state highway system. You will also help ensure that new and existing activities are balanced and sequenced into a clear transparent and effective portfolio delivery plan. It is an opportunity to use your deep understanding of effective portfolio, programme and project delivery strategies, practices, and tools, and provide thought leadership on approaches to portfolio planning.
About you | Ko koe tēnei :
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience leading the development of portfolios or programmes in a large and complex organisation, preferably with an infrastructure focus
- Strong ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty and be able to work in a context of emergency business priorities and processes
- Excellent relationship management skills, including political nous and ability to influence senior leaders
- Advanced portfolio planning skills including risk-based adjustments to schedules and costs
- In-depth knowledge of the transport/infrastructure sector and NZTA's project development and delivery processes (including business cases)
- Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking and interpretation skills
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- The ability to effectively bring together multiple perspectives
- Strong written and oral communication skills
