Project Manager, Central Regional Hub - Te Aho o Te Kahu - Cancer Control Agency

Te Aho o Te Kahu – The Cancer Control Agency has an exciting opportunity for a new project manager to join our team. The key focus of this role is plan, design, support and implement regional and national projects to improve equity and cancer survival for all. This position is within the Central Region team and is based in Wellington. Regional travel will be required by arrangement.

As a member of our team you will be involved in a broad range of continuous improvement programmes focussing on building a system that delivers fewer cancers, better survival and equity for all. This role would suit an experienced cancer clinician with a passion for quality improvement looking for that next step in their career.
Ko wai mātou - About us
Te Aho o Te Kahu provides national leadership and oversight for cancer control as well as system-wide prioritisation and coordination of cancer care in Aotearoa.
Alongside a national team in Wellington there are four regional teams which have a critical role in linking the unique perspectives and diverse needs of regional communities to the development of national work programmes. The Central Region covers the Whanganui, Mid Central, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast districts.
Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
We are looking for a registered health professional with (or working towards) post graduate qualifications in health service leadership or public health. A clinical background in cancer treatment is highly regarded. In addition, you will need to demonstrate:
- Proven project management capability including skillsets in continuous improvement, planning and health sector implementation.
- Comprehensive understanding of tikanga, kawa and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in healthcare planning and delivery.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Analytical and research capability.
- Understanding of the complexities and challenges in cancer care in Aotearoa.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple workstreams.
- Ability to foster effective relationships, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
