Three yearlong internships:

• Internship one: Dunedin CAFS followed by North Community Mental Health team
• Internship two: EIPS/South Community Mental Health team - two days per week in each
• Internship three: North Community Mental Health team followed by Invercargill CAFS

Mō te tūranga - About the role
The primary purposes of the role include the following:

• Under the guidance of their supervisor, to provide high quality clinical psychology service in the assessment and treatment of clients, ensuring clients' needs are met in a culturally, clinically and legally safe manner. The Intern Psychologist functions as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Clinical psychology is a discipline integrating science, theory, and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective wellbeing and personal development. Psychologists assess and treat mental, emotional and behavioural disorders. They use the science of psychology to treat complex human problems and promote change. They develop an individual's resilience using strengths-based models

Mōu ake - About you:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in psychology or equivalent*
• Currently registered as part of Doctoral or Masters' level vocational training in psychology
• Registration with NZ Psychologist Board, with Intern Psychologist Scope of Practice
• Current annual practising certificate
• Understanding of mental health in infants, children, adolescents, adults and their families
• Effective oral and written communication
• Working in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Can use Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel)
• Can keep detailed written file notes, complete client pathway documentation and provide formal assessment reports as required

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the Apex, Allied Scientific and Technical Collective agreement (19 June 2023 - 30 June 2025) and sits between step 1 ($66,319 p.a pro-rata) and Step 2 ($70,112 p.a pro-rata).
