About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Purchasing and Data Lead to lead our team of purchasing coordinators and data analysts. This role will provide leadership and guidance to the team and will be responsible for ensuring the purchasing master data is accurate, driving cost efficiencies and ensuring efficient onboarding of new suppliers.
This role will combine strategic sourcing, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure that our procurement processes are efficient and aligned with our business objectives.

We are seeking a dynamic Purchasing and Data Lead to lead our team of purchasing coordinators and data analysts. This role will provide leadership and guidance to the team and will be responsible for ensuring the purchasing master data is accurate, driving cost efficiencies and ensuring efficient onboarding of new suppliers.
This role will combine strategic sourcing, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure that our procurement processes are efficient and aligned with our business objectives.
The main responsibilities of this role include..
- Provide leadership to purchasing and data team
- Bring commercial and strategic mindset to the team
- Ensure the training and support materials are current including online content
- Ensure we are operating within the Procurement and Inventory policies and procedures
- Provide key management reports
- Manage Material and supplier onboarding, ensuring that master data is accurate and maintained.
- Manage the process of onboarding of Synlait suppliers into the Ariba network
- Provide systems support within the Purchasing and data function
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role will require …
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role preferable
- Purchasing experience with demonstrable successes in achieving targets / best practice benchmarks
- Experience in dairy industry or food manufacturing preferred
- Warehousing and Logistics experience beneficial
- Proven Leadership experience in Purchasing/ Planning/ Scheduling role
