About the role
Support and guide students through our Schools Pathway Programmes. These programmes provide year 11 to 13 students with a broad range of skills to be set up for a career in the agriculture industry.
This role is full time for 40 hours per week and is fixed-term until the end of 2025. Schools are based in the Tararua and Manawatu regions.
In this role you would:
- Deliver quality Schools Pathway Programmes by providing students with consistent, dynamic, and valuable learning experiences.
- Provide students with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to be set up for a career pathway in the agriculture industry.
- Create a safe learning environment for all students, by following safe work practices and procedures.
- Ensure all student results, reviews, and evaluations are completed promptly.
- Manage relationships with farmers, schools, and other key stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with:
- Theoretical knowledge and practical experience in agriculture/farming/the primary industries.
- Experience in teaching and tutoring young people, with proven ability to effectively deliver interesting informative programmes.
- Experience in customer service and stakeholder management, with proven ability to build, maintain and proactively manage relationships.
- A good track record of following safe work practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Primary ITO, a business division of Te Pūkenga, is New Zealand’s largest industry training organisation and the only organisation in New Zealand dedicated to providing training and qualifications to over 30 primary industries.
We work with employers and others in our industry to identify, manage and promote learning opportunities and to make sure our qualifications are up-to-date and deliver the skills the industry needs.
Our Vocational Pathways team works with schools and industry to ensure we provide relevant information and education for students who are interested in the primary industries.
