We are seeking a fulltime permanent Senior Accounts Advisor to join our high performing Transactional Services team in Hamilton or Wellington. We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, has a willingness to learn new things and are prepared to take on extra responsibility to increase business process efficiency. You will serve as the 2IC to the Team Leader in Hamilton, providing key support and leadership across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and sensitive expenditure internal controls for the Transactional Services function. To be successful in this role you will:

• Sound knowledge of fundamental accounting.
• Assist to lead and manage the Transactional Services Team, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls, particularly related to sensitive expenditures.
• Demonstrated experience within the public sector or large complex environment with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
• Ability to mange multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Act as a point of contact for escalations and complex financial transaction queries. Provide expert advice and support on financial processes and systems.
• Strong business analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with optimisation of accounts payable and receivable business processes.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to team members in both Hamilton and Wellington. Support the Team Leader in mentoring and developing the team.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy, along with proven written and oral communication skills.
• A self-starter, with the ability to use initiative, pre-empt information requests and be approachable with a can-do attitude.
• A commitment to building Māori capability - both personally and within the team.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $65,066 and $90,008 based on skills and experience.
