The Commercial Services team is looking for a Senior Advisor with experience in construction and/or property procurement to join their small but high performing team. This role is a great opportunity to make a difference and take on a varied, challenging, and rewarding role.

Te Haeata/The Opportunity
The Senior Advisor works collaboratively to support the Manager, Property Portfolio, and the wider Ministry on a broad range of topics and issues that relate to commercial services. You will oversee a portfolio of spend categories and provide advice and support to internal clients about their procurement activities. Your role also supports the development and revision of procurement policies and processes, as well as strategic procurement initiatives.

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience leading property procurement projects and initiatives of a complex nature
• Understands the commonly used forms of contract and delivery approaches for property minor works and construction works projects.
• Good understanding and knowledge of the All of Government Directory for construction consultancy services panel and property panel.
• A natural ability to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• A high level of commercial acumen and communication skills – in-person, verbal and written.
• A good understanding of and interest in the domestic construction market and the ability to keep abreast of current trends and activity.
• Experience with end-to-end sourcing – including drafting tender documents, facilitating evaluations, and leading contract negotiations.
• The interest and desire to take ownership of future team initiatives as opportunities arise.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $97,208 and $125,683 based on skills and experience.
