Mō te roopu - About the team
Enterprise Services is our corporate services group accountable for IR's finance, technology, people, workplace, commercial, marketing/communications and knowledge management functions.
The ES PD&D team offers the following three key services:
- Initiative planning and delivery for projects being delivered by Enterprise Services
- Release management for our enterprise support service (primarily Cloud based Evergreen platforms) - Ātea (Oracle) and SAP/Miri
- Change management for local and enterprise initiatives being delivered by Enterprise Services
The Initiative and Release Delivery team works with partners across Inland Revenue to understand our constantly changing environment, outcomes and work programme. We consistently plan and manage prioritisation of our work, monitor risks and review how we are tracking against our performance measures to understand how we are progressing and why.
Ara Whiwhi Mahi - The Opportunity
As Service Owner - Initiative and Release Delivery you will provide leadership, coaching, advice, and guidance to a team responsible for the delivery of change initiatives, as well as operational support for core enterprise systems. You will support the Service Leader of ES PD&D to collaborate with, empower, and enable the ES PD&D Team to deliver against their initiatives in a complex and evolving environment. The role is a key engagement point into the team, and you will be expected to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to understand their needs, and manage expectations around engagement and delivery.
Simply put we are looking for someone who can support the team to maximise opportunities and deliver against their work programme effectively.
Mōu - About you
We are looking for a seasoned people leader who will bring the following:
- Leadership, including coaching and developing people to build their capability and deliver better business outcomes
- Leading through change and is passionate about supporting your people as they learn new and different approaches to their work
- Making sound decisions, drawing on your relevant experience and using appropriate tools, frameworks and approaches for the planning of and delivery of initiatives
- Building strong partnerships and network, and the ability to work alongside stakeholders to achieve the right business outcomes
- Proven thought leadership and influencing skills - able to effectively represent ES PD&D
- Ability to use good judgement to make decisions and uses initiative to evaluate outcomes and work with stakeholders to prioritise deliverables
- Experience in working in an environment supporting core enterprise systems and processes including developing product roadmaps and refining service models
- Repeated experience in establishing and managing relationships with vendors including designing requirements for RFP, completing vendor selection processes and managing the ongoing operational relationship
- A great communicator, who can translate business outcomes into service-based outcomes through connecting people and building trusted & collaborative partnerships
- Importantly, a deep and applied understanding of how best practice in this area integrates with the mission of the broader organisation/sector
