He Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
Our Radiology department is seeking a permanent Sonographer with excellent scanning and time management skills to join our busy team. Located within the hospital, our referrals include acute examinations (inpatient/ED), obstetric, vascular and community referrals. You will be supported by a team of qualified Radiologists and Sonographers.
We are looking for a Sonographer with excellent communication skills, a high standard of patient care, enthusiasm and the ability to work efficiently in our busy department.
While the successful candidate will be mainly based at Tauranga Hospital, they will be required to occasionally provide ultrasound coverage in Whakatāne when required. This is a 0.6FTE position, working 48 hours per fortnight.
He Korero mōu | About You
NZ Registration as a Medical Imaging Technologist with a sonography qualification recognised by the Medical Radiation Technologists Board is essential.

The successful applicant will need:
- General DMU/Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent
- Ideally skilled in areas such as vascular, musculo-skeletal ultrasound
- Be computer literate
- Proactive, efficiency while working
- Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
