It may be that you’ve been looking to use your proven professional experiences in a new environment - and this seaside sea change can offer just that. This role will require you to live on site given the remote location as access is by boat or helicopter only.
The Bay of Many Coves is a five-star luxury lodge in Arthur’s Bay, a 30 minute water taxi ride up the Queen Charlotte Sound from Picton, and we are seeking an exceptional individual to join our award winning team.
About the role:
As Sous Chef, you will support our Head Chef to ensure the seamless operation of our five-star restaurant in a stunning remote location. You will have proven experience creating exceptional dishes and have the creative ambition and ability to assist with designing and delivering our famous degustation dinners. You will assist the Head Chef to ensure the smooth running of Kumatage Guest Lounge, the Quarterdeck Lounge as well as the fine-dining Foredeck Restaurant with top quality food offerings and a “can do” attitude.
Whilst we are seeking an individual to fill this role, we are open to applications from couples if they have complimentary skills that would be a good fit for the Lodge. To be successful you will both be discreet, dedicated and comfortable working under pressure on split shifts. You will be joining a small and highly engaged team, so it’s important you are team players and willing to pitch in. You will also be comfortable working and living in a remote location, happily taking advantage of the many outdoor activities at our doorstep.
Skills & experience

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a culinary leadership role.
• Ability to lead and manage a small team in a high performing environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to create exceptional menus from local & seasonal high-quality products.
