• Provide leadership for the speech-language therapy team:
• Leading communication, and dysphagia services for adults with learning disabilities
• triaging communication and dysphagia referrals, allocating caseload
• supervising and mentoring SLTs
• ensuring the team operate efficiently and to a high standard of evidence-based practice.
• Manage a clinical caseload
• Identifying opportunities and scope
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic objectives across the organisation.
• Consult on the development of organisational procedures, the delivery of service improvement projects.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders - such as Talk Link, Te Whatu Ora, NZSTA, and Speech-language Therapy University programmes.
• Advocate for people's communication rights within the organisation and wider disability sector.

• Recognised qualification in speech-language therapy, and current membership of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapy Association.
• Clinical experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, with a minimum of five years' experience.
• Strong leadership skills. Previous experience managing a team is preferred.
• Effective communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
• Competent in comprehensive communication assessments and appropriate interventions, including expertise in a variety of communication tools and technologies, including AAC.
