What does a day in this job look like?
Building Relationships with technical Stormwater Experts is a large part of this role, anywhere there is stormwater flow will be a touch point for this position. This includes roads, wetlands, streams, and land use to name a few.
Managing the complex compliance relationship with our regulator will see you working in partnership with a number of stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure Hamilton City Council complies with our stormwater compliance requirements.
You will be working with district and regional plans, the stormwater bylaw, contributing to stormwater master-planning and integrated catchment management plans. Your key task each year, along with being a fantastic relationship builder will be to compile Hamilton’s annual compliance report for stormwater to our regulator working alongside a large number of stakeholders from around the organisation to provide the final product.
Skills and experience we are seeking:

Great networking skills; friendly, outgoing, approachable, and able to bring others on side.

Proactive; you get out and do what needs to be done.

Very good communication and report writing skills both written and verbal.

An engineering or science background.

Good foundation in a regulatory or compliance environment.

Experience in the application of the RMA.

What’s the salary?
Circa $100K dependent on skills and experience.
