The Role and Opportunity
Ag Research is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated students to join us for a Summer Internship program. These are aimed at students who are currently undertaking tertiary study and will run from 18 November 2024 until 7 February 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for you to experience what your professional career at a Crown Research Institute could be like - to gain exposure to the Science community, developing skills, and creating connections that will set you up for a bright career.

The Project
This project will investigate the potential of keratin derived biomaterials in injection moulding processes. The successful student will be establishing processing parameters and necessary master blend additives for successful injection moulding of keratin derived biomaterials. The key responsibilities will be completing a literature search to determine strategies, trials of different parameters and processing aids, analysing the mechanical properties of the injection moulded samples and reporting on the project.

Your Ideal Background
  • Currently studying in a relevant tertiary course.
  • Be able to commit to working from Nov ‘24 – Feb ‘25 (excluding our Christmas close-down period).
  • A keen attitude and motivation to work in an innovative environment.
  • Demonstrates safe workplace behaviour by taking all practicable steps to ensure own and other’s safety in the workplace.
