Mō te tūranga | About the Role
In this role you will be supporting four men, Tony, Alan, Edmund and Alex who are in their 40's and 50's and live at the main Hōhepa campus in a beautiful new home. The men have a variety of interests including horse riding, music, dancing and attending Hōhepa's anthroposophical events.
All the men in the house thrive on routine and stability, each taking part in their jobs to help keep the house running smoothly. We need a quietly confident person who can help the men feel safe in their care and who is able to build strong respectful relationships with the people we support.
Part of the role is to support Alex on a 1:1 basis to be regularly active and do gentle exercise to help keep him mobile. This will involve swimming, cycling, walking, exercise classes and potentially the gym.
You will be patient, empathetic and able to work alongside this person focussing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space. Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.15 and $28.25 per hour.

• Wednesday 9am to 12pm (1:1 Support)
• Thursday 9am to 12pm (1:1 Support)
• Friday 4pm to 9.30pm, 9.30pm to 7am (Sleepover)
• Saturday 7am to 4pm

Hands on hours: 41
Sleepover hours: 19
Total Hours per fortnight: 60
Position Two

• Sunday 7am to 4pm
• Monday 9am to 12pm (1:1 Support)
• Tuesday 9am to 12pm (1:1 Support)

Total Hours per fortnight: 30
