Hours per Week: Minimum 30 hours guaranteed per week
Pay Rate: $29.66 - $32.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Days Required: Weekdays, weekends, and public holidays required
Job Description:
We are seeking three experienced and passionate chefs to join our dynamic culinary team in Christchurch.
As a chef with us, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring a seamless, efficient kitchen operation in collaboration with team members.
Key Responsibilities:

• Procure and prepare fresh meat, poultry, fish, and other essential ingredients
• Wash, cut, and prepare ingredients for a variety of dishes
• Prepare sauces and ensure consistency in taste and presentation
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
• Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are well-maintained for optimal performance
• Strictly adhere to hygiene and food safety protocols
• Collaborate with fellow chefs on new dish creation and menu development
• Promote a harmonious and efficient working environment in the kitchen

Qualifications & Skills:

• Three years or more relevant work experience and/or a certificate or qualification in culinary arts
• Experience in Asian fusion dishes is a plus (e.g. Japanese, Korean)
• Track record of performing well in a busy kitchen
• Sound understanding and experience with kitchen equipment, utensils, and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and creativity in the kitchen
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Food safety certification is a plus
