We’re looking for someone to lead, inspire and share with the team their passion for IKEA products; someone who is driven to secure an outstanding customer shopping experience by securing excellence in warehousing operations & driving customer fulfilment services in IKEA New Zealand.
You are passionate about ensuring we meet our customers in the best way and securing excellence in Fulfilment Operations. You have expertise in retail logistics dynamics and influencing factors. You have an understanding of end-to-end supply chains alongside supply chain methods, policies, and requirements. You have experience with various fulfillment flows, including Truck, Parcel, External Collection Points, and Click & Collect. You have exceptional communication skills and the ability to build relationships, collaborate and effectively influence and manage key stakeholders. You have experience in leading teams with a customer-centric mindset in an operational function, with proven record of successful leadership delivering both business results and people development. You have the ability to navigate a high volume of work and enjoy working in a fast paced, vibrant, and changing omnichannel environment. You are passionate about safety in the workplace and understand all relevant standard operating procedures for Fulfilment, prioritising the safety of co-workers and customers. You are curious and confident with digital tools and are able to find opportunities where digital advancements and solutions can support the retail environment and customer satisfaction. You have a passion for leading with integrity and authenticity and have the ability to champion IKEA values and encourage your team to embody these principles in their daily work.

About this work area
Fulfilment operations department secure and execute the excellence in end-to-end operation with a unit including inbound & outbound, in-house replenishment, picking and service execution.
As a Warehouse Team Leader your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Managing and supporting the day-to-day operations, activities and co-workers of the Fulfilment Operations team including rostering, breaks, and ensuring KPIs are communicated and achieved.
- Lead the Fulfilment Operations Co-workers in the assigned area of responsibility to secure the highest goods availability, operational readiness always at the lowest possible cost.
- Take direct lead with identifying, recruiting, retaining, and developing the many talents in the Fulfilment Operations team, to secure a diverse, high performing team that can execute its assigned responsibilities with confidence and secure future people succession readiness.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment throughout the store and secure that the Fulfilment Operations Co-workers work in compliance with IKEA Code of Conduct, internal IKEA regulations and local legislation related to health, safety, security, and the environment.
- Continuous improvement and securing effective, qualitative, and efficient daily Fulfilment Operations to guarantee a positive customer shopping experience through quality of products, merchandising and stock accuracy.
- Create co-worker’s quality awareness to prevent and reduce damages, drive the implementation of local business plans/projects, and analyse existing workload to secure daily volume handling and meet operational excellence.
To be considered for this role experience in the following is essential:
- 2-3 years’ experience as Warehousing Team Leader or equivalent role. With at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Proven experience seeking out ways that warehousing ways of working and process enable omnichannel growth in the wider New Zealand market.
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to inspire, coach and develop people and secure succession, to bring together a high performing team that can contribute to business goals.
- Cultural competency and the ability to integrate equality, diversity, and inclusion practices within a workplace.
What you need to know
- This role is permanent full time.
- The work location for this role is IKEA Sylvia Park & external warehouse.
- Internal title for this role is Fulfilment Operations Team Leader.
- As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of early morning, day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).
- As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
