Youth Development Specialist
FULL TIME
October 13, 2024
After some professional and supportive training, you will become an instructor of a team of young people as they navigate through either a 1-week, 2-week or a 6-week course (age/circumstances dependent).
You will be an inspirational person who can provide leadership and training to youth of Aotearoa, supporting them to build confidence, resilience and develop self-belief by guiding them to see what potential they have and can achieve. You will also help them develop conflict and resolution skills.
We will not sugar-coat it; mental resilience is a must for this role, as some days will be challenging. However, the huge sense of pride and reward you will feel when you see youth that you have trained succeed, is worth it.
You will work alongside like-minded supportive peers made up of Military personnel, physical training instructors and social workers. To support you to perform at your best, there is ongoing comprehensive staff training and substantial support services available.
For further information about some of the courses you will be involved in, click here and here.
Please Note: The formal title for this role within the New Zealand Defence Force is Section Commander (Civilian).
