Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of scalable and efficient systems that power our new proptech product. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the server-side logic of our applications, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other team members to deliver reliable, secure, and robust solutions that meet our user’s needs.

Responsibilities:

• System Architecture & Design: Design and implement the architecture for backend systems and APIs that ensure scalability, security, and performance.
• Database Management: Develop and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity, optimization, and efficient querying.
• API Development: Design, develop, and manage APIs to support front-end applications and third-party integrations.
• Code Optimisation: Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code to optimise performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with front-end and mobile developers, designers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
• Security Implementation: Ensure that all systems and APIs have proper security measures in place to protect against vulnerabilities.
• Debugging & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues, bugs, and bottlenecks to maintain system stability.
• Version Control: Manage and track changes using version control tools like Git, ensuring seamless code deployment and collaboration.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing to ensure product reliability and robustness.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Backend Developer in the fintech or proptech industry.
• Proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Ruby, Java, or Go.
• Experience with database systems like My SQL, Postgre SQL, Mongo DB, or similar.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Graph QL, and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and debugging skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and fixing issues.
• Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Security Awareness: Understanding of best practices in backend security and data protection.
• Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
